OOPS!

Well, somehow Gracie's ticker at the top had a mind of it's own and was charting a different date. So I finally got that fixed today! :-)

July - A magical month!

Looking forward to July! It will be a fun month. We shall be debt free 100% by then (come hell or high water!), and can enjoy life a little more. July is our goal month. We also are planning on taking a 3 week trip in July - meeting a very dear friend in Hershey, PA, and visiting family in New York. July is also my goal for reaching my goal weight or at least pretty darn close. Then we will be trying for baby number 3! I love my 2 rugrats and can't wait to add another one into the mix. We're still not sure how many kids we would like. I'm sure when we're done, we'll know. And I know I'm NOT done. They bring so much joy to our lives. Although last week I was about to give Blondie a one way ticket to anywhere but here! lol. Typical mother/daughter butting heads.

July.... July.... July.... What fun it will bring!

Mr. Cranky Pants!

I had my sweet friend LEANN knit these for Paul.... aren't they DARLING??

Update on Bear

Bear had his 15 month checkup yesterday. All is great. His problem is correcting itself now so we should be able to avoid surgery! Woo hoo! I don't think I have posted about it so if your curiousity gets the best of you, drop me an email and I'll tell you about it.

Bear weighs in at 23 pounds, 6 ounces. He's 31" long and his head is 18 3/4 inches.

Trip to Helen 2008

We went to Helen this weekend for my mom's birthday. My brother, sister n law and nephew also went. We made many memories and had a blast. It snowed while we were walking through downtown Helen, Ga. It was so beautiful! Here are a few pics.

Blah.....

So this morning... 2am... how did I wake up?

Mommy I don't feel so g....... BLAH!!! Yep you guessed it - all over me and the bed. What a great way to wake up. This continued for much of the night. Explains a lot though - Blondie didn't listen for anything yesterday. When she typically acts like that, that's when she gets sick.

Bear on the other hand has succeeded in giving himself another black eye this morning. He was dragging his blanket around, tripped on his blanket, then went head first into the activity cube.

Typical day here at the nut house!

Small Update

Well, due to customer requests and promises from DH that he'll help, I've decided to continue carrying some squeaky shoes. Just got the new squeaky sandals in and they are adorable.

Got a praise - praise GOD a friend of mine and her husband walked away from a wreck with a intoxicated driver on Monday, which caused their van to hit a guard rail and flip. I saw the pics... oh my! Angels were watching over them! Praise God as well that their girls were not with them.

Nothing really exciting to report, but thought I'd at least blog something. We have no tv now - turned the satellite off last week. And our DVD player broke. Dagnabbit! So we're stuck watching all of about 10 VHS that we own.

I'm sure you all have noticed our new Debt Ticker. Thought it would be good for me to have a visual reminder of the debt going down. That ticker includes everything (credit cards and our durango) except the house of course. This has been a rough struggle going from our carefree credit card ways to disciplined spending. Much more rough than we had anticipated. Hopefully it will all be over soon - still planning it to be over shortly after tax season. We will see. The hardest thing is not being able to have the parties that I have every year - Christmas, Easter, etc. We always did big celebrations with our friends and family but haven't been able to since we're only using cash. Hubby and I talked about it and when we're debt free we'll have a HUGE debt free party. So that is something to look forward to.

Pregnancy... EVERYWHERE!

No not me. But everyone else it seems! I've had 3 friends announce this weekend that they are expecting. And I have a sneaking suspicion of a few other friends (and relatives). Hmmmmmmm.... something must be in the water!

On another note, I went shopping at Old Navy this weekend. They had a ton of clearance and all of it was super cheap and then you take 50% off the lowest sticker price!! Got jeans for Blondie and Bear for $4 each!!!

Achievements!

Just wanted to post a few of our latest acheivements! Sorry to brag, but I've had a "trying" day so wanted to post something positive to counter my day!

Blondie:
*Can recognize many words now!
*Finally enjoying "pretend". Blondie is very literal and has never really liked to pretend much and can not stand to be called anything other than her real name. Even "Princess" makes her mad. She's finally enjoying pretend. She's constantly telling me things that the dogs or Bear is saying to her. She's quite goofy in the things she comes up with.

Bear:
*Eats with a fork/spoon now! Woo hoo. After many days of chunking the spoon at us, he's finally succombed to eating with it!
*Doing great recognizing when he needs his diaper changed. Starting to get used to the idea of sitting on the potty.
*Has learned the meaning of Clean Up and actually DOES it.

Hubby:
*Finally picking up the bath mat when he's done showering (Only took 6 years to learn! haha)

Queen Mommy (AKA... ME!):
*Getting ORGANIZED!
*Finally learned that money DOES NOT grow on trees.

So there's some accomplishments for us. Day wasn't too bad, just very trying.

Have a great weekend!

RIP Buttermilk

Larry Wilkins, AKA Buttermilk, one of my Dad's Best Friends, passed away this week. He was a US Army Veteran with 3 Purple Hearts. He worked with my dad for years at Kodak. I don't believe I've seen him since my dad's funeral, when I was 12.

Read more about his life HERE.

I can imagine he's in heaven now being reunited with my Dad.
