Moving Right Along!

As you may have noticed, our debt free ticker is moving right along. Watch for it to jump even more to the right when we get our tax returns back. I'm proud to announce that we only owe 300ish on one credit card and the rest is paying off the durango. How exciting is that!?!

Last night I took the kids skating with friends. They had a blast and did shockingly well. I was even able to skate a bit. Bear enjoyed skating as much as Blondie did. I bought Blondie rollar blades as last time she had a hard time with the regular skates. She did FANTASTIC! When I was helping Bear, one of the professional skaters came and asked me if she could show Blondie a few tips to rollar blading, and of course I said sure. Well, she had Blondie doing absolutely incredible. I think we will be returning next week since the kids had so much fun. Sooo.. now you're wanting to see pics right? Of course! Here they are! The girl that is skating with my kiddos is Diva and the other boy is Doodlebug. They are my friends kiddos.

Changes!

Some big changes taking place!

First off, this blog has moved!

Also, my website has SOLD! Or at least is 99% sold :-) Hurray!

Yes, I'm still alive!

Long time, no post, huh? Lots has happened.

Fogo was incredible as always. We had a very nice time and got to know our friends a little better since we were kidless. We also found out if we take our kids, the kids all can eat there for free (age 5 and under). So we're considering going for lunch sometime but it will be a while for sure.

Sunday my mom went to the hospital. She thought she was having a heart attack - she even got a "bumpy" ambulance ride. They ran a bunch of tests but turns out she was having an anxiety attack. I suffer from anxiety attacks also, so I know how scary those are. To be honest, that's the main reason I had to close my business. Things have been much better since I have closed it. I hope to have everything in order and close by Feb 29th.

Monday I hosted the playgroups pizza party. The kids made their own individual pizzas and I think everyone had fun! One of Blondie's favorite things to do is cook or make things, so she of course had a blast.

Yesterday we spent much of the day on the phone with the HSLDA. For those of you that don't know, that is the Homeschool legal defense aid. If you homeschool, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT YOU NEED TO JOIN THIS GROUP. HSLDA.ORG. Here we are 10 years after Hubby graduated needing their services. I can't go into too much detail, but Hubby was denied a job because the man in charge of hiring is ignorant to the homeschool laws. That is the only reason. So we are now working with the HSLDA to have Hubby considered fairly for the position. We had to dig and dig through all Hubby's info to find everything and anything they needed along with tons of phone calls to track down things. But we are in order now and now we wait and see what happens and see what our next step is.

Horse Camp Hooray!

Blondie got in! They said she did great but that some of the other 4 year olds didn't do so well, last year so they raised the age. But they said Blondie is most welcome. HOORAY!! I told her and she is so extremely excited!

Today I'm going to spend the day cleaning and deciding what to wear to Fogo tomorrow. Today is homeschool playday with the homeschool group, but I'd rather go when Paul isn't so whiney.

Supposed to be a beautiful 67 degrees today! Here comes spring! We have to get our ground tilled and ready for our garden. Planning for some more yummy veggies this year! We got a late start tilling last year so we're going to do it early this time! We're going to do tomatoes (big fat ones and cherry ones also), zuchini, squash, and a few other things. If I feel spunky enough, I may try some herbs as well. And our blueberry bushes should be much bigger this year.

Whiney Whiney

Bear is sooo whiney. The meds he's been on make him so cranky. Only 2 more days of it! Then I'll have my Bear back.

Today has been awesome. Schooling was quick and painless this morning. I have trained Bear to sit down with his sister while we do site words. He sits there and after she says what the word is, he'll try to repeat it. So that's great for his speech development and such. He also is learning to sit still through our little bible study book. After that, Blondie teaches Paul his body parts. She'll call out one and he'll find his. Such as "Bear! Where's your NOSE". She's thrilled to be helping to teach her brother. She also helps teach him all the animals and their sounds on his Baby Einstein flash cards. Blondie worked on the letter K today with her Handwriting Without Tears kit. Tomorrow we have a couple K activities to do.

I went into Athens and spoiled myself a bit. Got my hair cut (or trimmed actually with a few layers now) and then got my eyebrows down (can we say OUCH!) Also went to walmart and got some new polish for my toes. My toes are plain all through winter and then when it's summer, I ONLY wear flops or sandals so I gotta have pretty toes! And then we went and had lunch at "chips and salsa" as Blondie calls it. So nice to get out on beautiful days like today! Plus with Hubby on days now, I'm actually getting sleep at night so I've been in an AWESOME mood.

I also got an email that horse camp is starting back up in June! The only thing is that it said for ages 5 and up where last year it was 4 and up. Sooo... I've got an email into them to see if Blondie can go. She'll be 2 months shy of 5. I know she'd be heartbroken if she couldn't go, so for now, keep it top secret and fingers crossed that they'll let her in. It was the highlight of her year last year. She's still talking about it!

Have a great one!

The Week at a Glance...

Well, we were supposed to go to Pump It Up for playdate today but Blondie and I aren't quite feeling 100%. And Bear still isn't 100% since he's been on the meds. So we ended up staying home. Good thing as I think I may be coming down with something.

Thursday this week is going to be fun! We're going to dress up, take the kids to Grandma's and then go out with friends to Fogo De Chao. It's an absolutely incredible restaurant. We have a gift certificate to use, otherwise, we wouldn't be going right now. Definately recommend it if you've never been. You will NEVER forget it.

I hope to go out and get my eyebrows done and maybe my toes done. What I REALLY want is to get my hair cut off - short like I did 3 years ago. Everyone loved it and it was so easy to manage. But Hubby says No way. He likes my hair long! Normally I'd have half a mind to tell him to forget it, it's my hair. BUT, I honor God by honoring my husband, and therefore, my hair is long. Maybe he'll change his mind one day..... Besides, Bear would be sad. He loves to brush my hair and play with it. And no, I'm not training him to be a hair dresser, although if that is what he decides to be, that is fine. I'm training him to be a sweet and loving husband one day. He's always had an obsession with my hair. We occasionally sing to him "I love hair - long Beautiful Hair". And then he'll giggle.

I also finally planned our yearly Easter Party. All of you local friends are invited, just EMAIL ME and I'll give you the details. We hope for a good turnout.

Once I get the kiddos feeling better, I'll post some new pics of them. I found the most beautiful place for pics the other day and I'm eager to take some!

Fun Weekend Ahead!

This shall be a fun weekend! Hubby is off all weekend! Tomorrow we're going to a friend's house for a cookout.

Tomorrow is also my little sister n laws 17th birthday! Happy Birthday Bebs! I can't believe she's 17! I remember when she turned 10! Bebs, even though we don't see you often, we still love you and think of you daily. You've turned into a beautiful young woman and I'm proud to have you as a sister. Wow - I remember when she got her black belt in karate, how I taught her mom to french braid her hair, taking her and her sister to ride my horse, and lots of other fun times. I still have that crazy picture when we did your hair wild that I'm saving for when you get married! You know the one I'm talking about! lol!

Seems everyone is getting older and older each year, huh.

Speaking of... Hubby asked me what I'd like for my birthday. Hmmm.... heck if I know! I mentioned a skillet to him, and maybe some of Cheryl's yummies, but I'd be perfectly happy with just family time. Gee whiz, 24 is sure coming fast! To tease Hubby, I call him my "old man".

We went out to eat with Tater, SJ, and Little Wolf tonight. Tater bought SJ a Chevy Tahoe! It was gorgeous! I'm seeing green! lol. (Hey, SJ - it's about time to take a girls trip again!) Tater was even able to pay cash! I look forward to that day when we can go buy a new vehicle with cash! More encouragement to get debt free. However, with Bear's emergency hospital trip, that has put us a little behind as we build our emergency fund back up.

All in all, life is peachy. A little sleep deprived but what else is new.
Word to the wise - "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission." Just something to think about :-) Never let others rude comments and jabs get you down. Everyday we wake up is a blessing. Take advantage of it and always live your life to the fullest with no regrets! Blessings to all!

My Cup Overfloweth

As I think about everything that has taken place over this past week, I can't begin to describe the joy and praises that have filled my heart. This week has just been so overwhelming.

Sunday we were invited over to friends of ours house for pizza and fellowship. They have 8 children (oldest is 14 and youngest is 4 weeks). They are just incredible and a blessing to be around. The husband owns the local pizza business and so we got the hook up with some YUMMY pizza. Gracie got to play with their 2 younger daughters and we got to chat (and I got to hold the newborn! ooooooh baby fever like always lol!).

Then Hubby got word that he's in line for a special job promotion. Can't divulge that information yet, so I don't jinx it! Just pray for God's blessing there.

Monday Hubby took the kids and I shopping. We literally shopped till we dropped. All cash spent from doing VERY well at the consignment sale. We got everything the kids needed for spring. We even lucked up at Payless getting Blondie sandals for 4.00 and Bear sandals for 5.00. Heck, I even got 4 shirts. And we still have money left over. Hold on to your seat for this ---- NONE of it was Gymboree! lol. Since FEEbay is making changes, I wont' be able to buy much Gymbo anymore since I won't be able to get my money back from it as well. So wonderful to have a hubby that loves to take the kids and I shopping.

Yesterday before Paul got sick, we had our homeschool group's valentine's party. That was a lot of fun. Of course, we were late, but that was due to another blessing, the phone call from SJ that she is expecting. Of course I already knew. Women's intuition. :-)

And then last night was really rough, but we were blessed with a short waiting time, friendly people in the waiting rooms to chat with, the kids doctor's partner being there, friendly nurses, everything just perfect. And the reassurance that Bear will be just fine.

During all this, my brother came and got Blondie. She enjoyed her night with Uncle Tater and Aunt SJ and of course Cousin Little Wolf. She also enjoyed going to Papa's house with Little Wolf. Papa is Little Wolf's Grandpa. She keeps talking about Papa and Papa's dog Missy. She was saying she wished she had a Papa. Unfortunately Blondie doesn't know what a true joy that a "Papa" is to have around.

We are so blessed to have our family - family willing to drop everything to help us out and take Blondie. And I know if they couldn't, one of my local friends would have without thinking twice. Already recieved several emails of "WHY DIDNT YOU CALL ME I WOULD HAVE TAKEN BLONDIE!" But Blondie was well taken care of. The events are now just a blur but I know we had friends and family praying for us and Bear.

Praise God today and always for his many blessings.

Another Hospital Adventure...

Spent the night at the hospital last night. Bear threw up in his bed after nap around 4:00. Then around 6:30 he started vomitting dark brown liquid. We called the dr and they said take him to the ER emergency or call 911 for an ambulance so of course, PANIC.

Fortunately he does not have the flu. He has a really bad ear infection which caused him to vomit. The dr says some kids vomit when they get an ear infection and they are not contageous.

He was vomiting so hard and frequent that he got a tear in his esophogus which was bleeding and going into his stomach and thus causing the dark brown vomit. He got a HUGE shot of meds and we had to stay and make sure he kept down some pedialite. He finally kept some down the last time and we were able to go home. Otherwise they were going to keep us overnight. I have to take him back this morning to be seen at our doctors. But thankfully, looks like everything will be okay.

Happy Birthday Little Wolf (late!)

My sweet nephew, Little Wolf, turned 2 in January. I've been meaning to post pics but kept forgetting! You know how that mommy brain is! I was soooo thrilled to attend his 2nd birthday party. Unfortunately we had missed his first birthday as we had gotten a call that hubby's sister n law was in the ICU and they weren't sure if she was going to make it so we had to go to Gwinnett. So it was awesome to see Little Wolf enjoy his big day!
Enjoy the pics!!

More Blah Blah

More ramblings for your reading pleasure (or boredom whichever it may be).

Hubby is working like crazy as always and that gives me a lot of time alone to think. Scary huh? Lol.

Blondie fortunately has gone back to Blondie. That was an interesting couple of days for sure. Blondie has also suddenly decided that she's big enough to need the door closed when she changes clothes or uses the bathroom. *SOB* I'm not ready for this yet!

It's also official. My kids think I'm nuts. My Aunt and Grandparents were up here today and my Aunt burned me a cd with some beatles songs and other songs on it. I was dancing around and singing "We all live in a yellow submarine" and the kids seriously looked at me like I'd lost my mind. Okay, I know you're dancing around now too - let's sing at the top of our lungs... WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE, A YELLOW SUBMARINE, A YELLOW SUBMARINE! After that was Lucy in the sky of diamonds, so we had that blasting as well. Bear finally started dancing with me but Blondie still looked at me like I was a few fries short of a happymeal.

On another note, I had a sweet little trip down memory lane the other day. I have misplaced my regular bible so I found another one of mine that I used many years back. I open it up to read and out falls a little folded peice of paper. I open it up and it's a drawing that Hubby's sister had drawn. It had me, Hubby, her and her sister on it and said I love You. How sweet. I so miss the days when the girls were younger. They live just down the road in Lawrenceville and we haven't seen them in almost a year, although we've invited them and Hubby's parents to many things. Anyways, it was so sweet to reminess about how things used to be "back in the day".

We are also looking for someone to watch the kids this friday night. I'm going to ask one girl tomorrow that lives down the street, but she works so she may not be able to. We shall see. We plan on celebrating Valentines Day on Friday since Hubby works Valentine's day.

Anyways, I've got a bit of a headache so I'm going to sign out. Have a great weekend.

No more Blondie :-(

As you all know, Blondie can be very independent and... well... determined. She has decided that she no longer wants to go by "Blondie" and now prefers to go by her first name. The name we call her in real life is actually her middle name. Sooo... since she is making us call her by her real life first name, might as well change her name on the blog too while she's in this "stage". I sure hope it's a stage! Her Blog name will now be "Miss Priss" until further notice. Have I cornfuzzled you completly?

RIP Derrick Fertitta

Sadly, another passing to report. My 1st cousin Derrick has passed unexpectedly. He was the only remaining son of my aunt. His brother passed a couple years ago also unexpectedly. He leaves behind his 14 year old daughter Miranda. She is living with my aunt. Please keep the family in your prayers, especially Miranda and my Aunt Judy.

Random Ramblings

Hello all. Just some random ramblings here. Hubby is being so sweet and cooking dinner for us. He's actually off this weekend which is so nice. I keep telling myself this is only temporary, but for goodness sake it's hard with all the overtime he's taken on.

We've reached a few bumps in the road regarding him getting on with the police department. Mainly, his homeschooling credibility. What a mess. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers on that as we may have a fight on our hands.

Bear had a horrible cold this week and is finally getting better. He didn't get much sleep so of course, I haven't gotten much sleep and have a sleep-deprived headache.

I can't wait to put the kids to bed and curl up on the couch with my hubby with a fire going tonight. I'm so blessed to have such an incredible husband and incredible friends. Each and every one of you are special to me.

Have an incredible weekend.
