Our Soccer Star!

Today was Blondie's first soccer practice! She did very well and loved playing! If anyone wants to come see her, EMAIL ME and I'll let you know her schedule. Blondie was thrilled to be on the same team as 2 of her good friends. On to some Soccer Star pics :-) P.S - I had my friend Des make Blondie some soccer hair ribbons - her team's colors are going to be green and white. Des makes great stuff, and you can find her ribbons HERE.

Here's us at the house getting ready to go. Isn't she cute????

A Day in the Life of our Homeschool!

The homeschool year for us is getting off to a pretty good start. A few minor bumps in the road, but we're smooth sailing now. Blondie is thriving with the Christian Light Curriculum we bought. Heck, I'm even learning! Yesterday we did a little finger painting. We all had a blast!

Then we washed the car in the rain. Not sure how that fits into homeschool... anyone have any thoughts? lol.

And this past Sunday, we made it over to see Baby Levi. Blondie was thrilled to hold him and she says she can't wait until she has a baby brother or sister to play with (I guess bear is old news!). I told Blondie, she's going to have to wait! lol. Every night, she prays that God will send her a baby brother or sister. Hmmmmm.....

Bargain Shopping?

I like to think of myself as a bargain hunter. I love a good deal. I have a hard time resisting sales. I even have friends joke all the time that they are going to hire me as their personal shopper. My mom and grandmother are/were both bargain shoppers, so I come by it naturally. Today I ventured out to the local huge consignment sale, itching to find a good bargain. And I found them too! Kelly's Kids like new Scottie Dog outfit for Gracie for $5! Like new Children's Place long sleeved button up plaid tops for Bear for $1! It makes my heart fill with joy to find such great deals! Now some things, I will never understand. Some people are just crazy. Take THIS EBAY AUCTION for instance. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU PAY THAT MUCH FOR USED T@RGET CLOTHING?!?!?!?!? Someone needs to smack that person and tell them to wake up! I mean, it's not even like new! It's fading and fuzzing. EW. Another example is at the consignment sale, someone wanted $17 for a USED, FADED, Gymb0ree top. What were they thinking? I buy Gymboree all the time! NEVER do I pay full price. I've gotten Gymboree tops for 4.99 BRAND NEW (and then had a 20% coupon to use on top of that!) Yes, dress your kids in style - you all know I love to dress my kids nice, but use common sense! You know, I actually had someone ask how I managed to dress my kids nice all the time (gee whiz - they would be shocked if they showed up at our house when we're home for the day! lol). My secret is this - save the nice stuff for going out and get it for DIRT CHEAP. Get the rest from freecycle and wear it at home and for play! And never resist hand-me-downs! Meanwhile, need any good bargains, let me know and I'll shop for you! But NEVER pay full price and NEVER buy used clothes for ridiculous prices. Things like that auction just make me sick! (Although kudos to the seller! I'm sure that was a nice surprise!)

Something to Ponder....

Saw an interesting quote today...... definately something to think about...

"The Bible calls children a blessing, and debt a curse. Yet we apply for curses and prevent blessings!"

Fun Weekend!

This weekend was so busy and exciting, I'm still recovering from it! I went and saw my newborn nephew on Friday - he is just a doll!! Do you want to see pics of him? Just CLICK HERE.

Saturday, we had Blondie's birthday party. It went much better than expected! The only downfall was that the river was MUCH lower than it usually is. We still had fun, though! I was chattering away with friends and didn't get down to the river to take pics of Blondie playing with her friends, so sorry there aren't many pics of that. After everyone left, Blondie and Bear's aunts took them down the waterslide for a bit longer. Hubby joined in too :-)

Here's Bear and Hubby grilling in their Nikki Knits matching camo aprons.

Now for a sad pic.... Bear found a little froggy. He had fun holding little froggy. Little frog jumped down. Bear has been taught by Daddy how to squish spiders and bugs he finds..... and yep... no more little froggy :-(

Sunday we went with another family to Anna Ruby Falls in North GA. It was a nice walk and beautiful falls.

Here's Blondie with her friend. Blondie insists that she wants to marry him when she's old enough, so I guess time will tell. He's one of Sis' brothers. They were so sweet - on the hike up, Blondie and him were holding hands! I missed the photo op, but his mom got a pic! If I get it, I'll share!

Sorry for the suspense!

Levi Asher is here! He was born at 2:39 AM, August 15th, 2008. He weighs 7 lbs, 15 oz (so much for that 10 plus pound baby the doctor was insisting upon!), and is 20 inches long. Hubby and I went on our "date" this morning and stopped by to meet our new nephew. He is an absolute DOLL!! LOTS of dark brown hair and just too cute for words! Of course he loves his Auntie already :-) SJ and Levi should be coming home on Sunday. Little Wolf is a proud Big Brother. Bear and Blondie haven't met Levi yet, but might meet him tomorrow or Sunday. Tomorrow is also Blondie's Birthday Bash at the river. Gee Whiz- I need to get some photos off my memory card for the camera so I can get some pics of the party and of Mr. Levi! Gotta think of a blog name for him!

Have a great weekend!

Where there's a will....

Hubby and I have been talking about making a legal will for a while, but we just haven't done it. Finally, this Friday, it will be done. I think the hardest part has been deciding who the kids will go to if something were to happen to us. I think we've finally decided. Hubby will (hopefully) be talking to the people this week or next week, but we're very confident in our decision. In choosing, it's imperative that you pick someone with your ideals that you know will raise your kids the way you would want and would treat your kids with respect. I've been anxious to get it done, because if we were to go now, I'm sure there would be a huge confusion over who the kids would go to. I'm so happy to get one more thing off my to-do list!

And big thanks to the fabulous "Sis" for agreeing to watch our kiddos for us. She is by far the coolest teen ever!

Blondie Is 5 Now!

Can you believe it? Blondie turned 5 today! I took Blondie, Bear, Blondie's friend K, my mom and grandmother to the North Point Mall near Atlanta. I'm so glad I decided to let Blondie take a friend - it definately enhanced her birthday. We had a great time and here's a few (okay a bunch) of pics for your viewing pleasure.

Blondie and K. K has a bitty baby but she wanted to borrow Molly for the duration of our trip.

My mom didn't want Bear to feel left out, so she took him to Build a Bear. He picked out an elephant, which he named ABrrrrrr. You know... the noise the elephants make - lol. Bear SCREAMED when the lady tried to take the elephant to ring it up. Abrrrr hasn't left his side.

We didn't make reservations in time to eat lunch at the bistro, but the squeezed us in for ice cream. It was INCREDIBLE. The kids all had chocolate milkshakes. They were the best I've ever tasted. It was super cool that the dolls (and elephant) could sit right with us. They also have extra dolls that belong to the bistro in case a child comes and doesn't have one, they can pick a doll to sit with them! Upon finding out it was Blondie's birthday, they put a candle in her milkshake and sang to her!
